I can appreciate lo-fi thrash metal—but preferably when it’s from the 80s or played by a teenage band. There’s no reason to sound this awful when the band was formed in 2004, has released five albums, and its members are over 40.
This Italian trio plays thrash metal that rattles along with a recording that sounds like it was done in a rehearsal room. In other words, it does not sound good. That said, I can usually overlook bad production if the songs are strong. Unfortunately, that’s not the case here.
The worst part is vocalist Dog’s performance. He doesn’t sing well, and it doesn’t help that he croaks in Italian. He is the longest-standing member of the band, having joined in 2009, while the other two are newcomers who weren’t involved in any of the previous albums. It’s easy to see why the earlier members left—this is far from good.
Unless you have a strong appreciation for sloppy Italian thrash metal, this is an album best avoided.
Released May 20th, 2022 on Time to Kill Records.
